Tropical
Bird-land was started up in 1982, by Richard Hopper,
who today still runs the bird park.
After
a initial struggle with the council, who where
not keen on Richard opening, it soon expanded
with aviaries.
Later Richard introduced, rear species, which
most if not all have been hand reared, there is
a Nursery that you can see through one of the
many windows, how the birds are reared and progressed
on.
|
|
As
time went on Richard got offers of many birds
from unwanted homes, either the Birds got too
much for the owners, or the owners passed on.
Dont
be afraid to pick them up or touch them as most
of them are very friendly, they love the attention.

When you visit this place dont be suprised to
see the Birds flying round the village, they do
come back, dont ask why they won't fly off, as
they never have done.
Many
birds that fly free are; Macaws, Parrots, Parakeets
all at their own leisure.
Watch
out for the ones that nibble your feet, they are
all so funny, all got their own different ways
|
|
Not
only is this a Bird Park, they also do many events;
Children's
Parties.....................
Christmas
event........................
Halloween
NIght.......................
Bonfire
Night............................
