The
Photography days at Liberty's offer more than simply
Birds of prey. The days are run by Miles Herbert
the owner of Captivelight photography and are planned
with the photographer in mind offering natural settings
in which to photograph these beautiful birds.
In
addition to the Birds of Prey the centre also
has an assortment of reptiles of which you can
get some super close up shots using little more
than an 100mm macro lens.
|
|
All the birds and reptiles are sympathetically
handled and it is their welfare that is always
put first. Miles and the team from Liberty's are
always on hand to ensure you get the best possible
shots.
During the day you get the opporturnity to photograph
a number of birds and reptiles in a number of
locations around the site. This is in addition
to the flying displays which are held during the
day.

|
The site is smaller than some of the other centres
but still has a lot to offer in particular on
the orgainised photography days.

Raptors in the Forest Photodays,
New Forest, Hampshire
|
|
|
The
Raptors in the Forest days are organised by Miles
Herbert of Captivelight Photography and Liberty's
Owl, Raptor and Reptile Centre.
The days are a wonderful opportunity to photograph
birds of prey in the beautiful surroundings of the
New Forest.
A number of birds are taken from the centre to a
location in the New Forest and there placed on natural
perches to enable to photographer to get the best
possible images of these spectacular birds.
|
The
birds taken to the forest will normally be British
birds of prey. On the day I went there were a Barn
Owl, Tawny Owl, Buzzard, Kestrel and the majestic
European Eagle Owl. Miles and the team from Liberty's
are always on hand to offer advice or position the
birds in the best way.
The Forest trip lasts from about 10am - 2pm after
which you return to the Centre and are able to continue
photographing the birds and reptiles at the centre.
You may even be lucky enough to get back in time
to see the afternoon flying display.
This really is a magical day and one that is on
my return list.
